Obsidian definitely knows how to do roleplay, omg do they know how to do it. Skill checks were definitely a must-have, it's weird that Bethesda scrapped them entirely when there are a lot of situations where they could've been used rather than the RNG Charisma system we have now. It just feels weird having the old karma system because it didn't really have much of an effect on gameplay and was way too black and white in its interpretations of what was right and wrong. It'd be neat if the karma system was part of the faction system where based on the choices you made in a quest or how you acted towards a certain person then that affects your reputation with a faction associated with that quest.

In general though, it would probably be best to get rid of it entirely.
